Don’t Miss the Final Weekend of BLF 2015!

This year’s literary festival may be drawing to a close, but the final weekend has a packed programme featuring book talks, film, photography and our annual open mic session, so don’t wait until next year – be sure to come by the Bookworm this weekend! 

On Friday we welcome children’s author Frané Lessac and Beijing-based essayist Zhi An, while British writer Zoe Gilbert offers a workshop on crafting short stories.

Stop by on Saturday afternoon for a screening of Shu Haolun’s moving filmNo. 89 Shimen Road. Also on Saturday we hear from prominent Hong Kong writer Chan Koonchung, author of The Fat Years and The Unbearable Dream World of Champa the Driver, and host a discussion on the social impacts of China’s rapid urbanization with Wade Shepard and Ran Yunfei. Our annual celebration of local talent takes place at 9 pm on Saturday. Come along to hear stand-up comedy, poetry and song or sign up to perform yourself.

The festival closes out on Sunday with the return of long-term Chengdu resident, Swedish-American photographer and artist, Ingrid Booz-Morejohn, who will run a workshop on street photography and launch her new book,China Countdown.
